The staff at Koala Lou are a dynamic team who contribute different qualities to the Centre to make it the fantastic place that it is. We have long term staff who have been at the Centre for many years with some staff having been employed at the Centre for over 10 years. This allows us to provide continuity of care which means your child will receive quality care. The Director Melissa Robertson has been at Koala Lou for over eleven years and is available to answer any of your questions.
All staff are qualified in Early Childhood and approved by The Office for Early Childhood Education and Care, and their qualifications comply with the Childcare Regulations. The ratios of staff to children are established in the regulations and are complied with at all times.
Each staff member holds a current Senior First Aid, Resuscitation Certificate, Blue Card and some staff are Epi-pen trained.
It is a policy of the Centre to strive for excellence and to this end, all staff are actively encouraged to pursue further professional development and in-service training. The Licensee also provides additional training to the staff through the use of outside consultants and in house training at staff meetings. Staff are required to attend a monthly staff meeting as well as Accreditation meetings. These meetings and training assist us to continually update and modify our practices.
